Abstract:
As one of the main targets of cosmological surveys, the galaxy peculiar velocity field encodes information about the growth history of cosmic structures and significantly contributes to the study of dark energy and dark matter. Its detection is typically achieved through two methodologies in cosmology: the redshift space distortion (RSD) and kinetic Sunyaev-Zel’dovich (kSZ) effects. I will outline our progress in studying these two effects on both theoretical and observational fronts. Theoretically, I will introduce new models for the galaxy density and pairwise kSZ power spectra in redshift space. Observationally, I will present a new detection of the pairwise kSZ power spectrum with a signal-to-noise ratio of 5.2. As multi-tracers of the same underlying velocity field, I aim to further highlight the synergy of these two effects in data analysis for future surveys, showcasing the corresponding cosmological and astrophysical benefits.
