Systematics in Strong-Lensing Time-Delay Cosmography

   Abstract:
   Strong lensing time delay cosmography provides an independent route to measuring the Hubble constant, but its reliability is limited by systematics in both time-delay measurements and lens modeling. In this talk, I will focus on two sources of systematics investigated in our recent work. For lensed Type Ia supernovae, we study the impact of microlensing, which can distort the observed light curves and affect time-delay recovery. For lensed quasars, we examine systematic effects associated with the lens-modelling process, where different assumptions about the mass profile can propagate into the inferred time-delay distance and H_0. To address these issues, we first investigate how microlensing influences time-delay measurements of lensed Type Ia supernovae through simulated light curves motivated by joint Muztagh-Ata 1.93m Synergy Telescope (MOST) and CSST observing scenarios. we then study how lens-model choices affect cosmological inference in the lensed quasar system WGD 2038-4008 by comparing different mass-profile models and evaluating their impact on the inferred time-delay distance and H_0. Together, these studies illustrate how different sources of systematics can enter strong-lensing time-delay cosmography and why they must be carefully quantified for robust cosmological inference.
