 梅贻琦与海峡两岸清华大学

摘要:在海峡两岸清华大学发展史上,梅贻琦校长曾作出重大的历史贡献,他以卓越的办学成就享誉海内外。作为两岸清华大学共同的精神财富,梅贻琦的教育思想及其办学经验值得我们倍加珍惜。在两岸清华大学联手筹办100周年校庆之际,探讨梅贻琦的大学教育理念及其实践成就具有重要意义。

本论文主体分为六章。第一章绪论,主要包括本研究的选题意义、研究综述、

思路与方法、重点及难点;第二章概述梅贻琦的生平及性格,试析其高等教育思

想的来源和内容;第三章:论述梅贻琦在北京清华大学从普通教员到校长的从教

经历,总结在其治下国立清华大学取得的卓越成就;第四章介绍梅贻琦在西南联

合大学的主政事迹,以及抗战胜利后带领清华大学复员的过程,论述其在战争岁

月中对国家教育事业的重大功绩;第五章探究梅贻琦晚年离开大陆以后在台湾重

建清华大学的过程,阐述其对台湾学术走向和科技发展起到的突出贡献;第六章

总结梅贻琦一生的办学贡献及深远影响,思考梅贻琦办学的成功经验对今天高等

教育的启示与借鉴。

通过系统的历史考察和初步的理论分析,本文得出以下研究结论:第一,在

长期的教育实践中,梅贻琦把西方先进国家的教育理念和我国的优秀教育传统完

美结合,形成了许多有价值的教育思想和观念;第二,梅贻琦既是两岸清华大学

的主要创建者,也是中国近现代杰出的教育家。他在抗战时期的艰难条件下,执

掌西南联大,使之成为中国近现代高等教育的奇迹。第三,梅贻琦注重通识教育

和通才培养,其办学理念和教育实践,为当今大学教育管理模式变革与创新人才

培养,提供了有益的历史借鉴与启示。

总结:探讨梅贻琦的教育贡献,可加深两岸年轻一代对两岸教育交流的渊源的理解,为推动两岸高等教育良性互动起到一定作用。

梅贻琦是一位实干型的教育家,素有寡言君子之称,留存至今的著作较少,除《清华学校的教育方针》、《大学一解》(与潘光旦合写)、《工业化的前途与人才问题》外,其余多是各种集会的讲话稿,其思想尚待进一步挖掘与研究。

学术界对梅贻琦的研究主要围绕以下几方面展开:1.挖掘整理梅贻琦的个人文献及回忆性文章。2.全面介绍梅贻琦教育思想及实践。3.重点介绍某一方面教育观点与理论。(1)通才教育(2)教授治校(3)大师论

梅贻琦办学理念与实践的启示:

三、要为大学校长提供施展才华的宽松环境
