Abstract：The climate and culture of a campus is impacted by the leadership behaviors of the campus principal. Often the principal is unaware of this impact because those behaviors are directly related to underlying motivations that affect faculty reactions. Two important leadership behaviors exhibited by principals, authority and structure, are explored through a case study of three elementary principals and their faculties to determine the impact on school climate. Findings explain how principals' leadership behaviors can affect trust and positive relationships that are crucial to a healthy campus culture and climate.
