 Principals’ Leadership Awareness and School Culture: A Case Study

AbstractThe climate and culture of a campus is impacted by the leadership behaviors of the campus principal. Often the principal is unaware of this impact because those behaviors are directly related to underlying motivations that affect faculty reactions. Two important leadership behaviors exhibited by principals, authority and structure, are explored through a case study of three elementary principals and their faculties to determine the impact on school climate. Findings explain how principals' leadership behaviors can affect trust and positive relationships that are crucial to a healthy campus culture and climate.

1、学校环境和文化受校长领导行为的影响。通常,校长对于这种影响是毫无意识的,因为这些行为直接关系到影响教师反应的潜在动机。

2、通过三所小学校长和教师对校园环境的影响的案例研究发现,权威和结构是校长展现出来的两种重要领导行为。研究结果对校长领导行为如何影响信任和积极的人际关系作出了解释,而这些积极的因素是一种健康的校园文化和环境的重要组成部分。
