The influence of school leadership styles and culture on students' achievement in Cyprus primary schools

Abstract:The article presents a study on the influence of the leadership styles and culture of the school to the academic achievement of a student in primary schools in Cyprus. A study was conducted wherein participants include 22 schools, 55 classes and 1,224 primary students in Cyprus. The manner of leadership of school principals, culture in school and classroom as well as the students achievement in Greek language and Mathematics were evaluated at the start and later part of the same school year. Results show that the principal's leadership as well as the learning culture of the school influence the academic achievement of a students.

本文提出了一种关于领导风格和学校文化对塞浦路斯小学学生学术成就影响的研究。这项研究的参与者包括塞浦路斯22所学校中的55个班级,总共1224名小学生。一开始,被评估的有学校校长的领导方式,学校文化和班级文化,还有学生在希腊语和数学方面的成就,后来就只评估了其中的一部分。结果表明,校长的领导方式和学校文化对学生的学术成就有影响。
