THE CHANGING ROLE OF THE SCHOOL PRINCIPAL.

Abstract: The article presents the author's views regarding the changing roles of school principals in the 21st-century educational system of the United States. The author asserts that principals should be seen more in terms of leading teacher improvement rather than as a administrative manager. The model of principal as leader of curriculum improvement is also highlighted, including lists of specific necessary objectives for several fields, including reading, mathematics, and social studies.
